Haven’t posted any photography in a while!

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 3GS and started taking more “experimental photography.”

(A quick aside: I upgraded from an iPhone 3G 8GB that I got the day they were released. I’ve dropped the thing so much that before I upgraded, the phone ran so slow. The Home Button was actually damaged the day I got it but I never knew until months later and the pins on the USB connector were loose and sometimes the charger popped out when you moved it when while charging. That being said, I thought I was going to get maybe… $50 if I sold the phone. A quick search on eBay.com showed that iPhones in worse shape than mine were going for well over $200 when their auctions ended. Long story short, I put mine up and because of eBay, I ended up getting a new phone for free. Point being: if you are eligible to upgrade, throw your phone up on eBay and upgrade for free. Thank you eBay… On to the story now.)

Thanks to the speed of the iPhone 3GS and the autofocus camera, I can now do more photography. Visiting a friend in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, I got to use one of my favorite iPhone apps again, Pano.

Pano was one of the first photo apps I’ve ever used for the iPhone and I love finding new places to use it. It showed me that the iPhone can be a powerful photo taking tool. Thanks Debacle Software!

Armed with a shiny new iPhone 3GS, I finally get to use TrueHDR. I’ve been waiting to get an iPhone 3GS just to use this app.

I’m still figuring out how to take good photos with high dynamic range. We’ll have to revisit this in another blog post. Maybe when it’s not cold out and my hands are too frozen to be playing around with my iPhone in the streets!

I’m also learning how to make Wigglegrams with the iPhone app 3D Camera. Click here to see an example. (Too big to post.) I love this app! As a kid, I always thought 3D photos were the coolest thing ever. As an adult, I’m glad I can make all sorts of stereograms and 3D photos with one app on my mobile phone.
