I’ve been pretty lax with how I’ve been using Twitter as far as a marketing tool. As part of the classes I’ll be teaching next month, I decided to start apply what I’ve been researching on myself. Last night I tried using the technique I found to get at least 50 – 100 new followers on Twitter a day. So how did I do?
I received over 140+ new followers instead! This makes me feel confident that what I’m teaching will be effective! I’m excited! I’m even more excited about TwitterCounter.com‘s prediction that I may have 3,000 followers in 30 days time! Let’s hope!
I’ll post more experiments in the coming days!
EDIT: This image is now out of date. Two days later, the number jumped to 464! Over 200+ new followers all in less than an hour’s work!
And don’t forget to add my Facebook Fan Page to keep up to date with all my postings, links and discussions!

Philadelphia Fashion Week 2009 – My Runway DJ Mixes
This weekend I participated in the first ever Philadelphia Fashion Week! It was an incredible event and I was asked to be the closing DJ for the closing night. I had the privilege of DJing the last 3 hours of the event as well as having the great opportunity to create 3 “runway DJ sets” for 3 different designers’ shows.
The first set was for SA VA.
After seeing some of SA VA’s looks online and watching interviews with SA VA herself, the feeling I got from her designs were meant to give the women who wore them a feeling of sexiness and beauty, but were coupled together by a hint of maturity. The set I came up with features the same elements that her designs invoke.

The second set I made was for men’s swimwear designers Parke and Ronen.
Although the designs they showed at PFW2009 are not available on their site yet, I did get a sneak peak at their look book prior to the event. Their designs are very interesting and they wanted the music to push the energy levels to the max. Between having very excited male models, vibrant designs and pulsing electro rock tunes, their show was my favorite moment of the night. I personally met with their marketing manager to come up with a feel for the set and I think we knocked it out of the park.

The final designer for the night was Melani Von Alexandria.
Melani’s designs are very powerful and dynamic. I felt that the perfect set of music would be songs that featured heavy bass synths and sexy vocals. The strong bass lines and soft vocals in all the songs were a perfect match for her looks and made for a fantastic finish for the night.

I was personally thanked by all the designers for how well all the music complimented their work. It made me very proud to be a part of the event and I’m glad I did some of Philly’s finest some justice since their city took very good care of me. I can’t wait for next year!
